    Attention All Parents!

Here is a chance to drive your kid nuts!

Please sign up to Volunteer as a
    Mighty Marching Mariner Chaperone

Job description of the Executive Board Officer responsible for “Chaperones/Logistical Support”: (per the current By Laws of the TRN Mighty Marching Mariner Organization)

“This committee is responsible for obtaining members of the Organization to accompany the Marching Mariners to all events, outside of the school day, to act as chaperones. This committee shall also be responsible for working with and coordinating with the Marching Mariner professional staff and transport of needed equipment and instruments for performance. Organization members performing the tasks of chaperones are responsible for the safety and protection of all student members of the Marching Mariners. Any observed misbehavior or rule violations on the part of a student shall be brought to the attention of the band director or school administrator responsible for the event who will take appropriate action according to Board of Education policy.”

The TRN Mighty Marching Mariners need adults to volunteer to be members of this committee. There are three different activities you may choose from or mix any of three, if you wish. Just please get involved. It is a good time and you will see your child’s efforts up close. Travel with the group is limited so you may not be able to travel with the kids all the time, but every effort will be made to share the travel trips with as many volunteers as possible. The travel limitation is due to space and School Policy.

    1. General Chaperone: Travel with the Organization to events to keep the students safe while having a good time.  Support the Organization at Fund raising events with many possible jobs available, i.e., cook during band camp bbq night,  sell raffle tickets/fundraising items at various events, work at concessions stand during TRNMMM-hosted festivals….plus anything else that comes along!

    2. Equipment movement and field show set up: Pack equipment for transport to Marching events, football games and Squad events.  Travel with the students to Away games, competitions, parades, etc. to ensure their safety.  This does require more physical effort, but gets you closer to the performances than any other task.

    3. Home Game only Chaperone: March with the Organization to and from the football field.  Sit in the stands to help School Staff enforce school conduct rules for the students’ safety while insuring your kids have fun and look sharp.  Chaperones may also be asked to help with the halftime refreshments for the students.
