Staying Informed Using the New TRNMMM Website

The Toms River North Mighty Marching Mariners Website has moved into the 21st Century. We now have our own blog/publishing website and we now offer two methods for you to receive information from our website; RSS feeds and/or email distribution. Not sure what RSS means, then read the paragraph below. When it comes to staying up to date with the latest information we recommend the RSS feed. You will get the TRNMMM updates instantly on your Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc. home page no more looking through all your emails and junk emails to find the latest on what’s happening with the Band and Squads.

Tell me more about RSS and Feeds?

Well RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it utilizes feeds. Feeds are a way for websites large and small to distribute their content well beyond just visitors using browsers. Feeds permit subscription to regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or in some cases good old email. Feeds also make it possible for site content to be packaged into “widgets,” “gadgets,” mobile devices, and other bite-sized technologies that make it possible to display blogs, podcasts, and major news/sports/weather/whatever headlines just about anywhere. Wow pretty high tech stuff, like I said earlier I would go with the RSS Feed and forget about looking through all those junk emails to find the latest information from the TRNMMM website.

    RSS Feed Setup:

To setup your RSS feed, you will need to go to the TRNMMM website http://www.trnmmm.org/ and click on the animated RSS feed located on the right sidebar. You can then follow the instructions and pick what works best for you AOL, Google, Yahoo, whatever you use you can decide.

    Email Signup and Setup:

For those that wish to receive the latest updates via email you will need to visit the TRNMMM website http://www.trnmmm.org/ and enter your email address in the box located on the right sidebar. Once you enter your email address another window will popup asking you to enter a verification code that is shown. Once you enter the verification code you will get a confirmation email, so remember to look for it and then all you will need to do is click on the link in the confirmation email and you are done. When new information is entered on the TRNMMM website you will receive one email that night with the latest updates.
